GLASZONE sound protection elements therefore act as effective noise buffers between the source of noise and where it is perceived.
The efficacy of sound protection elements is measured in terms of its sound reduction index and is logarithmically proportional to the sound level. This means that a reduction of the sound level by 10 dB equates to a 50% reduction of sound.
GLASZONE elements are rated at a minimum of 40 dB by the standardized sound reduction index (noise control class 3) and include a particular capacity for reducing low frequency sound, for example as arises from street and rail traffic, airplanes, disco music, and industry.
The sound reduction capacity of GLASZONE elements is evaluated by certified inspection institutes according to the requirements of the particular element and the results are available for sound reduction calculations.
